It is commonly believed that females in the past were oppressed and that they were viewed as inferior to men.

Granted, in many time periods of the past women were indeed oppressed by their male counterparts; be it in social life, in sciences and so forth.

Nevertheless, and as far as it concerns Ancient Greece, things were NOT as they are taught in mainstream sciences or your average history books.
