FC BARCELONA’S ESCOLA IN VOLOS FOOTBALL LAND / ERMIS FC A SUCCESS
The FC Barcelona Escola Camp, that was carried out in Volos Football Land from 08/08/2016 – 12/08/2016, was a complete success.
The young football players that participated in the specific camp were able to experience the training sessions, which their idols, in FC Barcelona execute on a weekly basis.
The program of the camp was not an easy one at all. The morning training started around 08:30 a.m., then the players watched videos from the various training units, the tactics were explained to them, and then the evening training session started at 17:00.
In other words, the youngsters spend roughly 7 – 8 hours each day, in the facilities of Volos Football Land, training not-stop. An admirable feat indeed, considering the fact that the youngest player, participating in the camp, was 6 years old; nonetheless, all players endured.
Bottom line is: all children, coaches and the managerial stuff from the FC Barcelona Escola Camp had an exciting experience.

Adam Tzanetopoulos, who came to Volos for a couple of days, visited Volos Football Land and the Football Academies of ERMIS FC – Volos.
Who is Adam?
Adam is a Football Pro player for AEK FC as well as a National Player for the Hellenic National Football Team (aka the National Football Team of Greece).
It is needless to say that:
Volos Football Land is Greece’s Top Private Football Centre, and
ERMIS FC – Volos Football Academies, are Greece’s Top private football academies.
So of course Adam would visit us (<- well that, and the fact that he and Mr. Chronis are best buddies).

SV Böblingen sends players to participate in the FC Barcelona’s Football Camp in Volos Football Land
For the ones who are new to our blog:
SV Böblingen is a German Football Club, located in the area of Stuttgart, which became affiliated with ERMIS FC – Volos Football Club.

To the point of our article:
FC Barcelona’s International Division of their football academies will be visiting the facilities of Volos Football Land (also the centre for ERMIS FC – Volos) from 08/08/2016 until 12/08/2016 in order to execute the football camp in the line of FC Barcelona’s Escola.

As a result two players from SV Böblingen will travel during August to Volos so as to participate in the specific camp.
The two players are: Maggos Dimitrios and Maggos Eleytherios.
Moreover, end of June Mr. Chronis Sapounas, the Director of ERMIS FC – Volos Football Academies – will travel to SV Böblingen in order to… (<- be patient guys, we will update this section with all details in due time. We will just say that it is for an awesome reason).
That being said, we are looking forward for the two players to arrive in Volos and ERMIS FC will embrace both Dimitrios and Eleytherios as one of their own.

Now, let us proceed to some more specific details about FC Barcelona visiting us:
The above mentioned camp is executed through the so called FC Barcelona’s Escola.
What is FC Barcelona’s Escola?
In a nutshell and in very very very simple terms, it is FC Barcelona’s Football Academies International Division.
The age spectrum, of the football players, that will be allowed to participate in the above mentioned camp is between: 6 – 18 years old.
HOWEVER:
There is a limit of how many football players will be allowed to participate in the specific camp.
Meaning that once that number (aka limit) is reached NO MORE players will be allowed to enter (<- we will come back to you with more details about that in due time).
Why is that?
Hey, it’s FC Barcelona so they pretty much do not come for sightseeing but for business; and they do mean business when it comes down to football.
And to make sure that everything goes as FC Barcelona’s HQ wants it to go they are also sending over their Football Academy’s coaches and Technical Advisors (<- we will come back to you with more details about that in due time, as well).
To sum it up for the present article:
Currently there is a lot going on in regards to ERMIS FC – Football Academies and Volos Football Land; grandiose things some may say.

Today, during the Regional Finals, the 16 top football teams from four Prefectures clashed in Volos Football Land to get the ticket that will open the doors for the National Finals in Athens on May 14-15.
So as for a team to make it to the National Finals, first, it has to pass the Prefectures stage and afterwards, the phase of the Regional Finals. Only the team that will be able to claim the top of the Regional finals will be able to get the ticket for the National Finals where the winners of all Regions will clash against each other; so as for only one team to become the National Champion.
Or as the famous saying from Highlander goes: “There can be only one!”
Concerning the Regional Finals of Thessaly (Central Greece):
18 teams arrived today in Volos Football Land (6 teams for each of the 3 age groups). A sunny day embraced their endeavor and Helios himself was watching the games to see which team will become the champion of the respective age group.

The Process:
The 6 teams (of each age group) are divided in 2 groups of 3 teams; in which all three play against each other. The first 2 teams advance to the next stage.
Next, the first team of each group plays against the second team of the other group in knock-out games; in other words the winner advances to the finals while the loser goes home.
Next, the remaining two teams clash in the big Final and the winner advances to the National Finals and gets the ticket for Athens.

Never before have three teams, from the same city, won the Regional Finals and advanced to the National Finals (another National record set by Volos Football Land after breaking the 250 teams barrier)! !!
Is should be noted that all three teams that made it to the National Finals in Athens are coming from Larissa.
We hope to all three Regional Champions from Thessaly best of luck and that they will climb to the top and become the National Champions of Greece.

After a very successful Prefecture Tournament in Volos Football Land, that catapulted the number of football teams participating to 250 teams– and by setting a new National record, coming Sunday the Regional Finals will be carried out in Volos Football Land.
Specifically, the best football teams of 4 Prefectures from Thessaly will clash coming Sunday in Volos Football Land so as for the 3 champions to arise (one for each age group); the victorious ones will get the ticket for the National Finals in Athens, coming May.

The Prefecture-Finals have ended and from the 250 teams, only 6 (!) got the ticket for next week’s Regional Finals.

This weekend was, and still is, a very special one.
To begin with, Coca Cola Cup – Hellas is the most prestigious National Tournament, sponsored by Coca Cola, which is carried out throughout Greece; this year in 17 different cities. The age range that is participating varies from 13 to 19 years old football players.
In regards to the Prefecture of Magnesia (city of Volos) the Coca Cola Cup Hellas is organized and carried out in the facilities of Volos Football Land (Greece’s Top Private Football Facilities).
To the matter at hand:
Saturday was the last preliminary day for the Prefecture of Magnesia, in which the remaining football teams hoped in getting a ticket for Sunday’s Prefecture finals.
At this point there are a few things that we need to point out:
First, all teams that participated were exemplary according to the principles of Fair Play.
Second, the football level that was demonstrated from the young players was extraordinary.
Finally, and the most impressive of all, is the number of football teams that joined the Cup in Volos. The number: 250 teams; in other terms, roughly 2000 football players, comprising 250 teams, clashed in Volos Football Land. Add to that the people that came to see the games (friends, parents etc. —> meaning thousands of people visiting Volos Football Land) you should get an idea of what went on in Volos Football Land.
Moreover, the 250 barrier set another National record by breaking last year’s records by an increase of 25% (and guess what; Volos Football Land was the one holding that record as well). In other words, Volos Football Land broke Volos Football Land’s National record; interesting isn’t it?!
Today, Sunday, although it started of rainy, Helios (aka the god of the Sun) decided to open his arms, to embrace the event and to smoothen the weather conditions; and so the Prefecture Finals of the Coca Cola Cup kicked off…
(We are going to use the present tense from now on, due to the fact that as these lines are written the Finals are still going on).
The first age group to carry out the finals is the age group of 13-15 years, followed by the age group of 16-17 and then the group of 18-19 old players.
From the 250 teams that have joined the Cup in Volos Football Land, only 6 teams (2 of each age group) will advance to the Regional Finals of Thessaly (covering 4 Prefectures) that will take place in Volos Football Land the next Weekend; and from these teams only 3 teams (1 of each age group) will advance to the National Finals, that will take place in Athens.
Moreover, the entire event is covered by National News Channels, as well as newspapers and online magazines; while the channel that stands out most, is Novasports.gr, which is Greece’s respective ESPN.

The first weekend ended and the teams that participated surpassed the 200+ squads (practically breaking last year’s record).
The players were passionate and the games were intense; and the thousands of viewers were able to observe football-matches extravaganza style.
Next weekend the second round of the Coca Cola Cup 2016 will take place; and the weekend afterwards the Prefecture Finals will be carried out from all 4 Regions of Thessaly (the instant in which the moment of truth will come for the winning teams).
Only the cream-della-cream of Thessaly will have gained the right to participate in the 3rd, and final weekend, for the Finals that will send 3 teams to Athens for the chance to become Champions of all Greece.
We are extremely excited and are looking forward for the coming weekend.
